Our Cota Street Antiques Grand Opening weekend was held February 24th 25th & 26th, 2017. The celebration was our first effort to publicize our rather unique business of importing antique furniture from England to Shelton, Washington. We advertised in regional newspapers and mailed post cards to new homeowners in the local area. The response exceeded our expectations.
We expected the Grand Opening to attract the curious; what surprised us was how many came prepared to make major purchases. When the weekend was over, we counted the sale of over thirty large furniture lots, including sideboards, dining room sets, chests of drawers, wardrobes, desks, display cabinets and bookcases.
Our “Discover the Details” contest proved to be a popular challenge for all age groups. More than 60 contestants spent about an hour each finding the furniture linked to the “details.” The prize-winning entry was filled out by Fred Brown of Shelton. Upon learning that he had won, Fred said that it was a great way for he and his wife Alice to celebrate their 45th Anniversary.
Our next container left port during the first week of February and should be here in a few weeks. When it arrives we will be sure and let our customers know by email or post card. To be added to our contact list, click on the "contact" page above and send us your email.
